Riverton Pointe landowners established the Riverton Charitable Fund (RCF) in 2022 under the umbrella of the Community Foundation
of the Lowcountry. The mission of the Riverton Charitable Fund is to bring Riverton Pointe neighbors together in support of local needs and improve the quality of life for all that live here.

We provide resources to non-profit organizations
to enhance lives through targeted outreach in three  areas: food insecurity, education and community support.  RCF will award grants to qualified non-profits that address the needs of Jasper County, our neighbors

GRANT RECIPIENTS

From 2023 through June of 2026

Discover how our community grants are transforming lives and fostering resilience throughout Jasper County.  Since our inception in 2022, we have awarded a total of

$141,144. 

The Riverton Charitable Fund has supported local nonprofits, focusing on three main pillars: Food Insecurity,  Education, and Community Support.  A breakdown of grants awarded to each pillar is shown below:

FOOD INSECURITY

From 2023 through June of 2026, the RCF has awarded grants to
five (5) recipients for a total of $22,800.

Collected and distributed food that would be otherwise be wasted and thrown out.  Approximately 10,000 pounds of fresh produce were served to 3,169 individuals weekly.

Provided equitable, dignified, consistent access to food. Through RCF grant funds 120 households were able to pick up 40 pounds of produce at no cost to them.

Delivered approximately 192 meals per day through the dedicated work of 18 employees. RCF grant funds were used to improve the lives of Lowcountry senior citizens by means of food deliveries to elderly home-bound citizens, Monday through Friday.

Provided food, clothing and short-term assistance to our neighbors in need.  HELP of Beaufort has served the community for 50 years.  This grant provided five pallets of fresh produce each month to the public through the Fresh Xpress program as well as provided deliveries of 30-pound boxes of shelf stable foods and produce to seniors through the Senior Commodity Box Program.

Provided chronically hungry children and their families with nutritious food.  Forty children in the Hardeeville schools received monthly produce.  The program is hoping to add 10 new students. The program is 100% all volunteer with no paid staff.

EDUCATION

From 2023 through June of 2026, the RCF has awarded grants to
ten (10) recipients for a total of $46,000.

Provided structured after school programming aligned with academic priorities of the Jasper County School District through tutoring and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Programs. The RCF grant helped support the 102-youth served daily.

Assisted members of low-income families in their transition from a state of dependency to self-sufficiency, by offering programs and services in the areas of education, job preparedness, health wellness, and wealth wellness. A grant was awarded to support The Summer Youth Workers Program which helped place high school students in work training programs throughout Jasper County.   

 

A second grant was awarded for a program that provided at risk students with mentors to focus their attention on pathways to success.  Parental involvement was key, as they provided monthly evaluations of their observations.

Committed to empowering individuals, and promoting family excellence by providing educational programs.  A grant was awarded for a camp to provide tools to close the gap in education deficiency.  The camp was available to Jasper County children ages 4-13, with data provided by school reports and standardized tests. 

 

A second grant supported after school programs, youth day camp and summer camp. These programs are designed to reduce learning loss and promote academic achievement when children are not in school.

PEP is a program for adult individuals who have intellectual, developmental and/or physical disabilities. A RCF grant provided help to equip the classrooms with at least two adaptive tools and to purchase instructional materials. 

 

A second grant was provided for financial support for transportation services to and from the facility to individuals from Jasper County who were enrolled in the program.

This independent, non-profit theater sponsored a project titled, “Middle School Matters.” A grant offered Friday Clubs for 36 weeks of rotating clubs serving 175 middle schoolers exposing them to drama, painting, needlework, step dance, singing/chorus drawing, photography, writing/graphic novels, game design.  

 

A second grant was given for a family arts program which focused on learning through creativity, culture and community, bridging the gap between school and home. Step dancing and chorus provided math education while creative writing focused on language arts and painting provided education in history. Quarterly goals were provided with a student gallery showcase in the fourth quarter.

A program focused on initiating new programs and strengthening existing youth tennis programs in Jasper County at the Hardeeville & Ridgeland Schools. Public Tennis works in conjunction with the Boys and Girls afterschool program providing a "safe place" for children to play. The grant was used for age-appropriate equipment. 

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

From 2023 through June of 2026, the RCF has awarded grants to
fifteen  (15) recipients for a total of $72,344.

CAPA provided SIDS prevention-classes and Safe Sleep Essentials. The grant was for the purchase of 50 mini cribettes, sheets, pacifiers and sleep sacks in addition to continuing to educate families on the importance of creating safe sleep environments.

 

An additional grant was awarded the following year for another 50 cribs, and education on the importance of children sleeping alone and on their backs.

A RCF grant provided free medical, dental and mental healthcare to uninsured members of Jasper County.  Recipients, ages 19-64, must be uninsuranced and earn at or below 250% above federal poverty level, which equates to earning $39,990 for an individual.

A RCF grant supported a project titled 'Operation Safe Travels'.  Fifteen (15) car seats were purchasedfor families in Jasper County to prevent the "sharing" of car seats. Families are sharing car seats daily and they often are not compliant with FMVSS standards. The newer car seats purchased with the grant converted as the child grew from infant to child. ​

Committed to keeping people safe in their homes due to a temporary financial crisis. A grant was awarded to Deepwell for repair projects on 8 homes in Jasper County in need of plumbing repairs and installation of rams. This was completed by professionals for any code work, and an additional team of 45+ volunteers. 

 

A second grant was provided to assist people with mortgage rent assistance.  The program provided temporary support,  helped in sorting out what changed in the family's situation, and assisted the family to get back on their feet by providing support and guidance.

A RCF grant supported a project titld 'Warrior Peer Retreat'. It fostered a positive experience for veterans, active-duty military, and first responders.  Monthly retreats to a  268-acre facility provided peer engagement in a comfortable environment helping our local heroes find their purpose beyond active duty. 

 

An additional grant was awarded to provide service dogs and training for veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders to help with PTSD.

This grant provided an individualized program, advocacy, awareness efforts, and assessments by a qualified consulting pediatrician which was used to diagnose 10 children. 

 

A second grant was provided to the Lowcountry Autism Foundation to help reduce the waiting lists and finance needs in Autism evaluating and diagnosing.  Additionally, it supported gaining access to valuable resources for the family.

Lowcountry Legal Volunteers provided access to justice regardless of one’s ability to pay. A grant supported a project titled 'Justice for Jasper'.  The project created & conducted four clinics on legal issues important to the community including case management support, legal support for abused residents, evictions & unsafe housing issues, and legal help in getting protective orders.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

A 2024 project, Harvey Place, in partnership with Forino builders and the City of Hardeeville, built ten townhouses in downtown Hardeeville.  They were sold at cost with a 30-year interest free mortgage and monthly payments less than 30% of household income. All recipients were fully vetted by Habitat and met the following conditions: must be employed, low income, pass a credit & criminal background check, and provide letters of reference.

MENTAL HEALTH AMERICA OF THE LOWCOUNTRY

A RCF grant supported a project titled 'Transitional Funding for Jasper House' and helped clients awaiting insurance approval.  It is estimated that there are approximately 1,200 Jasper County adults with serious mental illness.  This grant supported funding & client temporary insurance coverage (mainly Medicare) while they awaited approvals.  Once insurance company payment was received, grant funds were returned to the program for other clients.

CHILDREN'S CANCER PARTNERS OF THE CAROLINAS

Cancer Safety Net program provided reimbursement to one Jasper County family navigating the world of childhood cancer helping to reduce the stress of this disease on the family.  This grant was used for travel expenses, gas, lodging, food costs, and case management. 

NEW DESTINY CENTER

Committed to improving quality of life by providing safe, affordable housing and community-based support that promoted stability, independence, and personal progress. Their “Servants First Shared Housing Program” focused on creating clean, structured living environments where individuals could maintain employment, build stability, and move forward by providing temporary subsidized rent and financial support to pay for utility costs.
